Join potter and studio owner Crystal Dunn for this fun workshop all about refining those rough draft pots into fancy final draft pots. A lot of wrongs can be righted with the right techniques and tools. We’ll cover:
Various Centering methods and tools and techniques for trimming even the most challenging forms
Evening out those wonky rims and bases
How to gauge thickness/thinness and when to take or not to take more off
Creating a foot and lip meet practical needs with the style you want
Tools: Useful cheap ones, fancy expensive ones, and what does and doesn’t work. (Our studio has so many to try!)
Quick, easy, and cheap burnishing and chattering techniques
How to add final details to elevate your forms
*Potters can bring 2 of their own pieces to trim. Sample pieces will also be provided for practice.
*Pre-requisites: Throwing Experience / Completed Beginner Class
